NEWAH CASE STUDY AND PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

On 24 August 2011, as part of a NEWAH Case Study and Photography Competition, 12 staff were awarded for their excellent work. Five NEWAH staff were awarded for their high quality case studies and seven staff were awarded for the best photography. The award ceremony took place in Sauraha, Chitwan following the completion of a cross organisational learning workshop and a sectional review meeting.

The themes for the case studies were:

- The impact of NEWAH training on people’s lives - NEWAH mid and far western regional office and Doti district office, 
 - The impact of WASH projects on mothers and children - NEWAH central and western regional office 
 - Child rights in WASH / Multiple Use of Water Services (MUS) – NEWAH eastern regional office.  

A three member jury judged 13 case studies by reviewing the content of the story, style of writing and use of language. There were 39 entries for the photography competition and seven were awarded on the basis of subject matter, framing, lighting, use of rule of the thirds, correct positioning and the direction of the photo.
