NEWAH Latrine Design 2010 (Nepali language)

NEWAH Latrine Design 2010 (Nepali language)

NEWAH has many years of experience designing and building different kinds of latrines appropriate for various users in communities. This book "Community Useful Guideline on Household and Latrine Design and Types" was first published in 2004. The revised  2010 second version contains a compilation of household and institutional latrine designs (girl friendly school latrines and disable friendly latrines). It also includes designs of eco-san toilets, improved stoves, bio-gas types and capacity as well as public latrines for reference. Community level technicians with general technical knowledge can easily build toilets following the drawings and instructions from the book.

A NEWAH Research Report on Sustainability of Changes in Hygiene Behaviour

A NEWAH Research Report on Sustainability of Changes in Hygiene Behaviour

Nevertheless, sanitation and hygiene often receive less resources. To advocate for increased attention to hygiene promotion it is important to know whether communities continue to practice new behaviours after a project ends. This study was carried out in Nepal and five other countries, to find out whether this happens.

Case Stories from the Field

Case Stories from the Field

The stories in this publication incorporates the real life stories from NEWAH’s working areas in the Mid and Far Western Region; supported by AusAID (The Australian Agency for International Development) through WaterAid in Australia and WaterAid in Nepal. These stories illustrate the positive changes brought into the communities through NEWAH’s Water supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) service delivery. In addition, it is envisaged that such effort will inspire and motivate NEWAH staff in creative writing as well as quality photography to increase the visibility of our work.
