Er. Niraj Gurung is a qualified civil engineer with over seven years of professional experience in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector. He joined Nepal Water for Health (NEWAH) in 2021 and has since been contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of community-based WASH projects across Nepal.

Before joining NEWAH, Er. Gurung worked with several major development initiatives, including the Purnima WASH Project, Community-Based Water Supply and Sanitation Project, Rural Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Sector Development Program, and the Western Nepal Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project. Through these engagements, he has gained substantial experience in engineering design, project planning and management, data analysis, and community mobilization.

He is proficient in preparing technical designs, cost estimates, and monitoring project implementation to ensure quality and sustainability. Known for his practical approach and problem-solving skills, he plays an active role in integrating technical and social components within WASH interventions.

Outside of his professional work, Er. Gurung enjoys listening to music, reading, and photography.
