Mr. Jigmy Palzor Lama

MEAL Manager

Jigmy Palzor Lama is a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) professional with over 12 years of experience in results-based management, program quality, knowledge management, and evidence-based decision-making across Nepal and the Asia-Pacific region. He has worked with international and national organizations, supporting programs in WASH, disaster resilience, livelihoods, governance, and social inclusion.

Before joining NEWAH, Mr. Lama served as MEAL Manager at Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Nepal, where he provided strategic leadership for monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems across multiple projects. He also led knowledge management initiatives and strengthened organizational learning and adaptive programming.

Mr. Lama previously worked with Akvo Foundation and Lumanti Support Group for Shelter, where he played a key role in designing digital monitoring systems, conducting evaluations, and promoting the use of data for improved program performance and accountability.

He holds a Master's degree in Sociology and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Tribhuvan University. He has received specialized training in impact evaluation, results-based management, gender and safeguarding, project management, and data analytics.

At NEWAH, Mr. Lama leads the organization's MEAL function and serves as the program focal person for charity: water, providing strategic oversight to monitoring, reporting, learning, and donor accountability. He is committed to strengthening evidence-based programming and enhancing the impact and sustainability of water, sanitation, and hygiene services for communities across Nepal.
